5 Micron (Standard): Ideal for borewell or high-silt water. It captures very fine particles and is the most common choice for protecting RO membranes.

10 Micron: Best for municipal or muddy water. It has slightly larger pores that prevent it from clogging too quickly when the water is visibly muddy or during monsoon seasons.

The Dual Strategy: If your water is extremely dirty, consider a double pre-filter setup with a 10-micron filter first to catch big mud, followed by a 5-micron filter to catch fine dirt.
