Product details
1. Structural Components
The Body: A cylindrical tube, typically made of Food-Grade Polypropylene or Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP). It must be thick-walled to withstand the high pressure (often 40\text{--}100 psi) exerted by the booster pump.
The Cap: A threaded lid that seals the housing. It usually features a high-quality EPDM O-ring to prevent leaks under pressure.
Ports (The Three Connections):
Inlet Port: Where the "Raw Water" enters after passing through the pre-filters.
Permeate (Pure Water) Port: Located at the center bottom; this collects the purified water that has passed through the membrane.
Reject (Brine) Port: Located at the side bottom; this is where the concentrated waste water and salts exit the system.
2. Common Specifications
For a standard 50 GPD to 100 GPD residential membrane, the housing follows these standard specs:
Model Size: 1812 (Fits membranes that are approximately 1.8" in diameter and 12" in length).
Burst Pressure: Usually rated for 300\text{--}500 psi for safety.
Material: High-impact, UV-resistant plastic (prevents algae growth inside).
3. Visual & Functional Designs
Standard White: The most common finish, chosen for its clean, medical-grade appearance.
Transparent/Clear: Used in premium or "demonstration" models. It allows the user to see the condition of the membrane and check for any physical scaling or fouling without opening the unit.
Double O-Ring Design: High-end housings feature two O-rings in the cap for "leak-proof" insurance, ensuring the seal remains tight even if the system experiences p
ressure spikes.
