Product details
An RO Inline Filter Kit typically contains three distinct stages of filtration that protect your system's membrane and ensure high water quality. These are essential maintenance items that should generally be replaced every 6–12 months, depending on your local water quality.
1. Sediment Filter (First Stage)
The Sediment Filter acts as a physical barrier. It is usually the first filter the water hits to catch large particles before they can reach more sensitive components. Â
Purpose: Removes sand, dirt, rust, silt, and dust. Â
Benefit: Protects the RO membrane from getting clogged or punctured by debris. Â
2. Pre-Carbon Filter (Second Stage)
The Pre-Carbon Filter uses activated carbon to treat the water chemically before it enters the RO membrane. Â
Purpose: Absorbs chlorine, organic compounds, and volatile organic chemicals (VOCs). Â
Benefit: Chlorine can damage and "burn" the RO membrane over time; this filter neutralizes it to extend the membrane's life.
3. Post-Carbon Filter (Final Stage)
The Post-Carbon Filter is the "polishing" stage. It is usually the last stop after the water has been stored in the tank but before it reaches your faucet. Â
Purpose: Removes any remaining odors or tastes that may have developed while the water was sitting in the storage tank.
Benefit: Ensures the water is fresh and crisp when you final
ly drink it.
